A Staged Reading Series
Femme Artisan: A Stage Reading Series was started in 2017 to present underproduced or unpublished work by female playwrights. Between 2017-2019, Magnolia Theatre Company produced 5 different shows under this series. Plays for this series have been pulled from The Kilroys list, New Play Exchange, and submissions. As a new non profit theatre company, Magnolia intends to continue this tradition by producing 3 shows in its 2023-24 season under the Femme Artisan series. This year, the series will expand to produce shows that are underproduced and unpublished that demonstrate joy. To achieve this, Founding Artistic Director Gina Minyard will curate 3 shows that show us joy.
